Artist Opportunities: Overview
CounterPULSE offers an array of opportunities and support
to low-income and emerging artists.
Performance Space Rental
The primary avenue for these services is CounterPULSEs low-cost,
easy access facility rental exchange
program. We co-produce all performances at our space, offering
free advice and promotional support for all renters.
Internships
CounterPULSE has two internship programs: the program
internship is offered three times per year, and the production
internship is offered for specific CounterPULSE-produced events,
several times a year. Interns have the opportunity to learn valuable
skills in arts administration through “hands on” experience
working with a new and growing community arts space, as well as work
closely with artists and CounterPULSE staff, learning valuable production
and publicity skills.
2nd Sundays
Dancers’ Group and CounterPULSE have teamed up to introduce 2nd
Sundays, a series of free monthly salons showcasing works in
progress, followed by dialogue between artists and audience.
Proposals for the Spring 2008 2nd Sundays are due Oct 15, 2007.
Words First
An ongoing CounterPULSE program for storytellers from a variety of
genres, styles, and traditions. First Wednesdays in September, October,
November, December: 9/5, 10/3, 11/7, 12/5 at 8pm, ADMISSION FREE—DONATIONS ACCEPTED

performing artist the opportunity to create, teach, and perform cutting
edge work.
Fiscal Sponsorship
CounterPULSE's Fiscal Sponsorship Program
offers independent artists and companies the opportunity to receive
grants and tax-deductible donations.
In addition to the above programs, CounterPULSE collaborates in
creative ways with artists who are creating exceptionally innovative
