Donate to CounterPULSE

Make a donation to help sustain our work.

CounterPULSE provides support and resources for low-income and emerging artists, serving as an incubator space to create socially relevant, diverse, grassroots art and activism.

CounterPULSE is the new name for 848 Community Space, which has played a unique and significant role in the SF performance community since the early 90's. No other single space has supported a comparable breadth of performance, queer art, improvised dance, cutting edge lit and word, and contemporary ritual.

Please visit our history page to find out more about us.

You can support CounterPULSE by making a donation of clothes, books, housewares, etc. to Community Thrift Store. Just go to Community Thrift at 623 Valencia between 10 am and 5pm, give them your used stuff, and tell them you’d like to support CounterPULSE (charity #37). You can even get a tax write-off for your donation! For questions about acceptable donation items, please call Community Thrift at 415-861-4910. Even small donations make a difference!
