“wild child” is a thirty minutes solo by Valérie Reding, which is realized as a co-production with Tanzhaus Zürich.
When pompous burlesque acts and personal confessions come together, the boundaries between naturalness and artificiality, authenticity and masquerade, reality and fantasy become blurred.
As the performer transforms herself without interruption from one character to the next regardless of gender roles, she deals with the constructedness of sexual desire – from the perspective of an asexual in a world of sexual omnipresence.
With show numbers staged to perfection and a dash of intimate fragility can the “wild child” seduce the viewer to engage in a “polymorphous-perverse” play with the principles of desire?
