As the Development Fellow, Maya’s role is to learn more about development within the arts. Maya is currently a student at the University of San Francisco and majors in Performing Arts and Social Justice and will graduate December 2018. She enjoys practicing theatre and modern dance. She has also performed and various theatre and dance productions with the University of San Francisco and Tupac Amaru Theatre Arts program. Prior to joining CounterPulse, she worked as assistance dance instructor with GIRLFLY that featured teaching aerial dancing to young women within the Tenderloin. Maya enjoys spreading positive and restorative vibrations in the community through creative storytelling.
Samantha helps facilitate CounterPulse’s Public Arts activities, including volunteer management and activity set up during Block Fest. She enjoys improv and works frequently with Cutting Ball Theater. Samantha performed at SFMOMA in the Fall of 2017 in Michelle Handleman’s piece, Hustlers and Empires. She is currently pursuing a career in the Expressive Arts Therapy with other disciplines including singing, spoken word, dancing, acting.
