My HOT Lobotomy (a multi-media theatrical EVENT opening this Friday here at CounterPULSE!) was created as a collaborative effort - not only between creator/director David Szlasa, his creative team (including Sara Shelton Mann, James Clotfelter, Calvin LL Jones & Katrina Rodabaugh), and his star performers Erin Mei-Ling Stuart and Spencer Evans - but also involving the creative input of songwriters from near and far who answered the call for new songs on the general topic of global warming.

For me, last night’s Dance Discourse Project: Writing About Dance was a powerful and very mixed experience. Mostly I’m feeling grateful. I’m grateful that four dance writers—Rachel Howard, Rita Felciano, Ann Murphy, and Keith Hennessy— for giving us a window into their world. Rachel talked candidly about the nuts and bolts of her role at the Chronicle, Rita and Ann shared beautifully-written and (I thought) quite moving treatises on their roles as critics, and Keith problematized the act of dance

 "Save SF Japantown" was on a sign held by a community member on the steps of SF City Hall in 2006 as we faced the devastating news that Kintentsu was selling 6 key properties.  We simultaneously celebrated the Centenial of SF Japantown, one of the last three Japantowns in the United States.  Japanese Americans have survived Internment Camps of World War II, and the removal of community housing from Japantown through SF Redevelopment in the 70's.  The sense of loss

Her practice straddles a range of cultural arenas, focusing on borders, migrations, decolonization and memory.
