ABOUT FLYAWAY PRODUCTIONS

Described by the SF Chronicle as “intimidatingly creative,” Flyaway Productions makes dances in unlikely places, activating the sides of buildings above bleak city streets. Our tools include coalition building, an intersectional feminist lens, and a body-based push against the constraints of gravity. Our work has been supported by Guggenheim and Rauschenberg Fellowships, the National Dance Project, SF Arts Commission, SF Grants for the Arts, 2 Creative Work Fund Grants, the CA Arts Council, DCYF and the National Endowment for the Arts. We founded GIRLFLY in 2006 to advance equity for the city’s young women/ GNC youth.

ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF CRAFT AND DESIGN

The Museum of Craft and Design is the only museum in San Francisco devoted to craft and design. Founded in 2004, MCD showcases designers, makers and artists through an exciting and distinctive series of craft and design-focused exhibitions and public programs. As a non-collecting institution, the museum actively collaborates with artists, designers, museums and universities, as well as design venues and practitioners to create inspirational experiences in the world of craft and design for visitors of all ages. www.sfmcd.org
