It’s never too late to give! Help us reach our $30,000 annual goal!
From Executive & Artistic Director Julie Phelps:
As audiences returned to CounterPulse’s home in the Tenderloin this year, we were met with a clarity about why the work we do is so important. With 30 years of art and action under our belt, we’ve looked inward to ask hard questions and we’ve reached out to listen to honest feedback from the people who bring our mission to life. As a result, we’ve mapped out a Theory of Change inspired by our vision of CounterPulse as a dynamic movement of experimental art that sparks personal transformation and builds enduring community. To achieve this vision we must commit to unwavering values of personal transformation, acting with purpose, responsivity, mutuality, freedom and radical spirit.
And we can’t do it alone. We must continue to center Diverse Artists and Cultural Workers who embody our values inside and out. We must engage Established and Emerging Audiences who look to us for creative and accessible programming. And we must do all of this in collaboration with Partners like you, who help us amplify our vision of social change each and every year.
Our new Strategic Plan is CounterPulse’s next official investment in the world we’re building, a guide for our next five years of art & action. We know this plan is only as strong as the community that rallies behind it, and we affirm our aspirational and bold vision through the trust and belief our community instills in us.
Each word in our Theory of Change and Strategic Plan is the result of hours of impassioned dialogue, and these documents are a testament to the power unleashed when a group of bright and dedicated people share a common purpose. Together, we can build a dynamic movement of experimental art that sparks personal transformation and builds enduring community.
